A VISION became reality in a Northumberland seaside village last week as an iconic sculpture, set to transform the area's horizon, finally arrived in its new home.
Keenly anticipated and a long time in coming, the UK's first permanent off-shore sculpture was installed after almost a full day of engineers working on the operation to put the statues in place.

Entitled Couple, the bronze sculptures are part of a £10m investment into regenerating the village's long-lost beach.

Onlookers gathered in their hundreds along the seafront to watch the moment the pair were finally positioned looking out into Newbiggin's bay.
