STUDENTS throughout South East Northumberland are celebrating after receiving their A-level results.
The waiting was finally over for hundreds of anxious teenagers as they received their exam marks.

Youngsters across the county gathered in excited crowds at their schools and colleges to collect their long-awaited grades.

Headteachers have expressed their delight as students achieved good results across core subjects such as English, maths and science, with some bright sparks achieving straight As.

Ashington Community High School saw huge successes with four students gaining As across the board.

Students at Hirst High School in Ashington were equally thrilled with their results.
