Can wardens not police cycle lanes

I WOULD like to congratulate Northumberland County Council and the former Blyth Valley Borough Council for the excellent work they have done to provide bicycle lanes all over Blyth.

But I am sorry to say the job is not complete as they have not produced road maps to educate cyclists, as they are still using the main roads when a bicycle lane is along the side the road.

The councils have spent a lot of money to provide this service.

This is paid for by the majority of council tax payers for the few that use this facility.

The local authority employs traffic wardens to police the motorists. Could the council not use some of the wardens to police and educate the cyclists on our roads to use the cycle lanes?

This would possibly help save a few accidents and more importantly a few lives.
