GUIDES in Blyth rounded off their year of activities with a Christmas celebration.

The event, which was attended by family and friends, included a traditional service of carols and readings.

Songs were sung by the members of rainbows, brownies and guides and a nativity play was performed by 3rd Blyth Brownies.

A collection was taken in support of the Great North Air Ambulance for which everyone had also been saving used postage stamps.

Barbara Craigs, division commissioner, said: “Girlguiding is thriving in Blyth thanks to the enthusiasm of its leaders and we look forward to a new year filled with exciting and enjoyable activities.”
