TV exposure to highlight wildlife trust

A COUNTY charity will have its work profiled on a national television channel.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust (NWT) is one of 25 good causes that have been selected to take part in the eighth series of Media Trust’s Untold Stories scheme, which has already produced more than 175 films for small charities.

Staff will work with top professional film makers at a fraction of the normal cost to show the positive impact of its various projects and activities.

Jo Cody, NWT marketing officer, said: “Everybody is thrilled to have been selected for the Untold Stories scheme and to have the opportunity to showcase our vital conservation work.

“Linking up with a professional film maker is a one-off opportunity for us, meaning that we can reach wider audiences, and we can’t wait to see our ideas for the film come to life.”

The trust is one of 47 such organisations working across the UK to protect wildlife and wild places.

Untold Stories is run by Media Trust in partnership with Sainsbury’s and Google to support small charities and encourage volunteering in the media industry.

The film will be broadcast on the Community Channel (24 hours a day on Sky 539 and Virgin TV 233, and between 5am and 8am on Freeview channel 87) in the spring. It will also be distributed online.
