Shame on BBC as service closes

IT is a shame the BBC discontinued its ‘Dear Ceefax’ (page 145) service on January 17.

This was due to fewer letters sent to the BBC on what the public thought about events in general.

It was ‘hard-hitting’ and by individuals with valid opinions, writing to say what they agreed or disagreed with, be it the police, politicians, occupations, youth, OAPs.

It was a joy to read – from a good insight to the downright ridiculous.

Why didn’t the BBC advertise on TV for more letters in which individuals would ‘let their frustration out’ by writing and ‘blowing a gasket’.

Only hope the BBC have something to replace this excellent feature which we can enjoy – as ‘Dear Ceefax’ was.

It will be sadly missed.
