Support for axing of bus service

WITH regards to the stopping of the X18 bus service, I support Arriva’s decision axing this service as it is not warranted.

The people at Stakeford can still get to Morpeth quite easily by catching the X22 to the stop after the Guide Post shops, crossing over the road and catching the No. 2 service to Morpeth.

These services have a good connection both ways, and for senior citizens it costs them nothing.

Buses are expensive to run with little passenger support.

However, Arriva could revert back to the X22 running a 20-minute service and a 30-minute one during the day as the demand for the X22 is increasing.
