Surprise donation much appreciated

YOU printed a letter from me (News Post Leader, February 2) relating to the money we received from the Co-op Community Fund, well you can imagine our surprise when a gentleman turned up at our weekly pop-in meeting at St Aidan’s Centre in Park View, Ashington, and donated a really generous sum of money.

He explained he wished us to use it to give our members a nice day out.

No one recognised him and he made it quite plain he wished to remain anonymous.

He obviously reads the News Post Leader’s letters page, so please can we use this medium to thank him, and let him know we are all so grateful and we will certainly all have a lovely day out.

It is wonderful to know there are such kind people like him living in our town.
