Verse calling for new life in town
What has happened to our town
When I go there I wear a frown
Not many summer flowers to be seen
Hooks, where hanging baskets have been
Other places in Northumberland have a good show
But in Blyth it makes one feel quite low
Bus station not a pretty sight
Visitors must think, what a plight
Market place stark and bare
Not a great welcome for people there
Our park is pleasant I must agree
This is a place where it’s nice to be
It’s in the town we need new life
To help to take away our daily strife
