New jobs created as pub gets refurbishment

A PUB is preparing to re-open and let the drinks flow following a major refurbishment.

A £140,000 revamp has taken place at the Snowy Owl Vintage Inn, on Blagdon Lane, which has included new fitted seating, a warm colour scheme, layered curtains, new external signage and an ‘ambience enhancing’ lighting scheme.

The pub will re-open its doors again on Friday following the changes – which has also created five new jobs as well as the original team being retained.

Landlord Colin Ward, who celebrates 15 years at the pub this month, said: “We’re totally revamping the interior to introduce the Vintage Inns premium dining offer every day from 5pm, hence the need for more staff.”

“And this means we now have private dining areas within the traditional pub environment for a more relaxed and refined eating out experience.”

His wife Gina added: “The renovations will make a very big difference to the overall mood and atmosphere and guests old and new are sure to love it.

“We’ll have a clean, contemporary look, but after a loving and tasteful restoration in keeping with the character of the magnificent old building.

“The vintage charm we’re famous for will still prevail, but we’ll also provide the modern comforts and amenities that guests come to expect.”
