THE Pajama Game opened at the St James Theatre on Broadway on May 13, 1954 and ran for 1,061 performances.
One critic wrote: "It must be one of the happiest, most romantic, and richly comical musicals ever and packed with hit tunes too."
Blyth Music and Theatre Company will present the show for six performances at Blyth's Phoenix Theatre from Monday, March 10.
The show is set in the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory and two of the central characters are played by Dave Cooper and Alison Charlton.
Dave is 'Hines' the factory time study man, but he is also exceedingly jealous of his fiancee Gladys (played by Shirley Haskett).
Sid Sorokin the factory superintendent's secretary Mabel (played by Alison Charlton), tries in vain to convince him he needn't be in the song "I'll never be jealous again".
Tickets for The Pajama Game are now available from the Phoenix Theatre box office any morning 10am until 12.30pm Monday to Saturday or by phone (01670) 367228, there is a 24-hour answerphone service.
Seats are priced at £9.50, with a Monday special price of £8.
The show starts its six night run from Monday, March 10 until Saturday, March 15, at 7.15pm each night.
