Antiques Roadshow expert to visit region

ANTIQUES enthusiasts are in for a treat when Antiques Roadshow expert Eric Knowles visits Kirkley Hall near Ponteland.
Mr Knowles will give a talk on antiques at the historic hall and will offer a valuation service on items visitors bring with them on the day.

The expert worked for an antique shipping firm in the 1970s before joining London auctioneers Bonhams in 1976 as a porter where he soon rose up the ranks to become head of the ceramic and then a director.

In the 1990s he became a regular on TV with appearances on Crimewatch UK, The Great Antiques Hunt and The Generation Game.

The event begins at 1.30pm on August 4, and tickets cost £10 each, with booking essential to guarantee entry.
