POLICE searching for a missing woman in Newcastle are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare and are asking for help from the public to trace her.
Emily Georgina Slater, 34, went missing from her father's address in Highbury, Jesmond on Wednesday, July 1, at 12.30pm, after stating she was going for a run.
However, she has not been seen since and police are growing increasingly concerned for her whereabouts. Emily lives in the London area but is currently visiting her father in Jesmond.
She has recently been suffering from post-natal depression, for which she is taking medication, after the birth of her baby three months ago.
Emily is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and a fresh complexion. She has short bobbed straight blonde hair with a fringe and wears glasses.
When last seen, Emily was wearing her running kit, which included: a white t-shirt with a motif on the front; black running tights; a dark blue plain jacket with a green lining and trainers.
Emily has a number of running routes, including running through Jesmond Dene. She is also known to run to the coast and Tynemouth area as well as the Town Moor.
She is also a lover of the Northumberland Coast, in particular the Alnmouth area.
Superintendent Frank Gallop, Newcastle Area Command, said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of Emily and it's imperative we trace her whereabouts as soon as possible.
"With the help of her family, we're doing everything we can to find her and bring her home safely and are carrying out extensive searches in Jesmond and the surrounding areas, and other places she is known to visit.
"Her family are very concerned about her and I'd urge anyone who may have seen Emily or who has any information about her whereabouts to contact us at the earliest opportunity as they could have vital information to the enquiry."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Byker on 03456 043 043 exts 62204, 62212 or 62213.
