TWO new eating places are to open in Cramlington after planning permission was granted for a cafe and restaurant.
The cafe will be developed at Atley Business Park in Atley Way after Blyth Valley Borough Council's development control panel agreed to a change of use application.

The small industrial unit is located amongst 38 premises varying in size, and will
include a cafe over a single floor with food preparation and counter area.

The facility will also have a seating area with four tables, and toilets with disabled access.

Parking provision will be located at the main entrance.

Three objections were received, raising concerns about increased traffic with insufficient parking, possible vermin issues, odours, and impacts on existing nearby businesses.

Plans for a restaurant at Endfield House, Front Street, Klondyke, were also approved after being withdrawn in September.

At the time, the application was likely to be recommended for refusal.

But the re-submitted plans added lighting and security cameras at the parking area, plus signs directing motorists to the provision.

The panel granted a change of use from a residential to restaurant facility on the first floor of the property, with the kitchen and storage areas in the roof space on the second floor.

A first floor extension is also proposed to house a waiting area for customers.

Four objections were submitted regarding the application, raising concerns about parking problems and litter.
