A CRAMLINGTON woman is celebrating after her New Year got off to an incredible start with a £125,000 bingo win.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous was playing with her friends at Gala Bingo in the town when she won the full house prize of £1,000.

And she was delighted to find that she had also hit the High 5 jackpot, taking her winnings up £62,500.

The remaining £62,500 of the jackpot was split between the other players in the club – meaning that 52 lucky bingo fans took home £1201.92.

Commenting after her lucky win, the 62-year-old winner said: "This has made my New Year. It still hasn't sunk in.

"I have had small wins before but never imagined that I would be a big winner – to take home the jackpot is incredible.

"I was so pleased to find out I would be sharing the jackpot with my friends at Gala Cramlington too – it is like a dream come true."

The Cramlington club's general manager Alex Connifey said: "The lady who won has been coming to the club for many years and we were all so excited for her when she shouted 'house'.

"She will now be able to visit her son in Australia, and perhaps bring him to the UK for a visit. We are all extremely happy for her.

"Because of the way that the High 5 game works, everyone who was playing that afternoon won some money which made it especially nice."
