A MAN has been disqualified from driving for three years after admitting a drink-driving offence.
Kyle Lowes, 21, formerly of Lily Avenue in Bedlington, was stopped by police at 3.20am on March 30 this year while he was driving along Alfred Avenue in the town as his car had two flat tyres.

He was taken to Bedlington police station where he was breath tested and was found to have 89mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

Lowes, who pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing, was given the three-year ban by magistrates at South East Northumberland Law Courts as it was his second such offence and within ten years of his first.

It will be reduced by nine months if he successfully completes a drink-driving rehabilitation course.

He also received a 12-month community order with 12 months supervision, a three-month curfew order between 8pm and 6am and to reside at his father's address in West Chevington, where he now lives, and he must pay £43 in costs.
