A SMALL cleaning firm is offering hope to those out of work by expanding against the odds to create ten new jobs by Christmas.
Business partners David Pickering and Paul Hollyer and Paul's wife Mel, started Mel's Cleaning two years ago, with a small base in North Shields and they will shortly be opening in Morpeth, creating ten new jobs.

The company now employ 20 staff and always advertise in Job Centres as they especially like to take on those who are unemployed, and despite the recession, Mel's now have a base in Hexham and Blyth

David said: "We started from nothing in a recession, it just shows that in these difficult times you can still get there if you are determined enough."

Additionally, the trio are hoping to offer 22 franchises which could potentially mean between six and eight jobs for each.
