MORPETH Library will be welcoming two local history experts on Thursday, September 4, to run a taster session on how budding historians can build a picture of how our ancestors used to live.
Wendy Stafford, founder member of the Choppington branch of the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society, will be demonstrating how to make a biography using an example of a shepherd who lived in the county in the 19th century.
Dr Liz O' Donnell will also be present for the two hour morning session – bringing with her some of the interesting oral history recordings from Woodhorn Museum where she is working to build the collection.
The 'Flesh on the Bones' taster session is being held at the library from 10am to noon and although places are free, booking is essential.
Refreshments will be provided.
To book, call (01670) 502218 and ask for Morpeth Reference Library.
The event has been organised as part of the National Year of Reading celebrations.
