MEMBERS of the public are being invited along to a special symposium at Woodhorn on Saturday to find out exactly what has been going on with the Access to Northumberland's History project.
In 2006, the project secured a generous grant of £286,000 to increase access to the archive collection of the Northumberland Collections Service which is based at Woodhorn.

Since then, staff have been busy gathering information and oral history recordings as well as making existing information more accessible.

Head of collections Sue Wood is sure that people would like to hear more about what goes on behind the scenes.

She said: "This symposium is an opportunity for us to explain to depositors and archive users just what we have been up to over the last 18 months, but we would also like to invite members of the public to join us too."

The event runs from 10.30am until 3pm on Saturday, October 11, but those interested in attending must reserve a place by contacting Sarah Tweddle on (01670) 528021 or e-mail stweddle@woodhorn.org.uk
