The Boundary Committee is conducting electoral reviews of local authorities all over England to ensure the number of electors represented by individual councillors is roughly the same.
The first stage of the independent government body's review will look at how many councillors there should be on the new unitary council.
Blyth Valley Borough Council will host a special meeting Thursday, August 28, to consider the electoral review, starting at 7.15pm in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre.
Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting.
Council leader Coun Dave Stephens said: "I believe that many people living and working in Blyth Valley will have strong views about their communities and how they will be represented in the future.
"I would encourage each and every one of you to get involved by telling the Boundary Committee how you feel."
The Boundary Committee states that all proposals they receive will be taken into account but those which are supported by argument and evidence are likely to carry more weight.
Views on council size must be received by the Boundary Committee by September 15 at The Boundary Committee for England, Trevelyan House, Great Peter Street, London SW1P2HW or e-mail
