A BLOCK of stables is to be constructed at a farm in Seghill after the council granted full planning permission.
Blyth Valley Borough Council's development control panel gave the green light to proposals for the facilities to be constructed on land at Mare Close Farm in Mares Close.

The site is located between the farmhouse and existing dwellings and is separated from the properties by a private access road linking to the A190.

Part of existing stable facilities for two horses will be converted into a storage area, and the new facilities will comprise one block with five individual stable compartments.

The stables are for the applicant's personal use with no commercial activities.

Two objections were received regarding the proposals, raising concerns about access to the stables, parking availability, invasion of privacy, and wear and tear on the access road.

But a report to the development control panel deemed the application suitable for development and stated: "The proposed development brings enhanced stabling to the farmhouse to facilitate the applicant's equine related hobby.

"It has been well thought out."
