The teachers, who work at Tynedale Middle School, got through the auditions for the Live and Unsigned competition on Sunday, February 7.
Mamacoca is made up of Stephanie Adams and Charlotte Jones, who are full-time teachers at the school, and James Peacock and Alaistair Lord, who teach at the school through the Northumberland County Music Service.
The group will now compete in the regional final at the Journal Tyne Theatre on Sunday, March 14, in front performing live in front of some of the country's top producers, label executives, promoters and DJs, and are hoping to be taken through to the grand final to compete for the ultimate prize of a £30,000 recording contract.
Head teacher at the school David Gray said: "Music and performance are important components of school life here at Tynedale and we have inspirational teachers who are important role models.
"Our children enjoy the buzz of people they know being involved in a prominent competition such as this.
"Hopefully the band will get into the national final and no doubt the excitement will intensify."
Mamacoca will be joined in the regional final by Mausi, Nick Celino, Soul Technique, Daniel Versus The World, Kiss Your Commander, Caplyn, Ink, Manonamouse, Runwells, The Bromista Technique, and The Raging Sickness who will battle it out to go forward to the north east and Scotland area final on Sunday, April 25, before the grand final.
All the acts that audition in the competition are battling it out for a recording and management contract with Future Music with an investment of up to £30, 000 to release their single.
The winners will be crowned the UK's best unsigned act in front of a capacity crowd on the main stage of the festival.
A&R and celebrity judges last year include former Sex Pistols Manager Malcolm McLaren, pop RnB star Dane Bowers and Radio 1's Annie Nightingale. Radio 1 DJ Greg James has already confirmed for 2010.
