Packs of personalised Blyth Valley Housing sunflower seeds, worth a total of £250, will be made available to tenants who want their gardens to blossom.
Last year, the housing company gave away £500 worth of seeds in partnership with Taylor Made Gardens Limited and Azure Garden Centre in Cramlington, but this year the seed packs are specifically designed for its tenants.
The giveaway aims to encourage tenants to look after their gardens, and also offers younger gardeners the opportunity to enter the tallest sunflower category in the Blyth Valley Housing Garden Glory competition.
Resident participation manager Dawn Wright said: "If this giveaway helps people to develop a passion for gardening or simply teaches their children or grandchildren to grow plants from seed then it has been worth it.
"Sometimes the biggest pleasures start from the smallest seeds, and through this we hope to raise aspirations of tenants and help improve their quality of life."
To claim a pack of free seeds, Blyth Valley Housing tenants should e-mail
participation@blythvalley.gov.uk or write to RPU seeds offer, FREEPOST RLYG-CCTU-THBZ, Dinsdale House, Blyth, NE24 2LN.
The offer is limited to the first 200 applicants.
Anyone under the age of 18 can take part in the Garden Glory competition, and the winner will be rewarded with a £25 shopping voucher.
