THE replica of a ship made famous in the 1962 Marlo Brando film Mutiny on the Bounty caused a great deal of excitement when it docked in Blyth this week.
Tall ship HMS Bounty spent two days in the Dun Cow Quay, welcoming visitors on board for a tour and raising money for the Cutty Sark appeal.

It proved to be a popular attraction, and queues to get on board tailed from the ship's berth on the quayside back to the car park.

Many local people felt that the vessel's arrival was good for raising Blyth's profile.

The ship set sail for Newcastle on Thursday.

How wonderful to see a video of HMS Bounty when she visited Blyth.
Everyone was 'over the moon' when it was announced that she would be staying for a few days.
Thanks must go to Mike Haley, the Harbour Master and the Port of Blyth, Blyth Valley Borough Council, Briardale Community Training Centre, Global Maritime, members of the Marine Support & Training Service, and the many others who pulled out all the stops at very short notice to make the event happen.
Blyth is a 'Can Do' town, and it is a privelage to be based there.
