MANY thanks to Mr Banks for taking the time to write (News Post Leader letters, June 18).
I am pleased to know that I am not alone in my dissatisfaction with the council and its blatant apathy towards the needs of all Seghill residents.

I thought your readers would be interested to hear this little story which further demonstrates my
point.

Over the past few weeks I have noticed further improvements being made in Seaton Delaval i.e new bus stop in Elsdon Avenue and nice new flowers on the main roundabout, all of which I have pointed out.

It transpires £6,800 was to be spent on this bus stop, the justification being and I quote 'Seghill mums complained that their
children were getting wet/muddy waiting for the bus'.

Now had this bus stop been situated in Outer Mongolia I could understand, but it appears that a few worried mums was all it took for £6,800 to be spent. ON DELAVAL!

Could anyone please enlighten me just what do the people of Seghill have to do to get the same treatment every other town gets?

And just for the young lady, Jade Kipling, who is studying local history – you can forget Seghill because it's the same as it was 30 years ago – except of course the landfill is bigger.

And for the youth of South Beach who so clearly object to yet another park being built in their area – if Blyth Valley Council are finding imposing a new park on the residents of South Beach too challenging, they can always build a new one in Seghill.

MR A CURRAN
Seghill,
Cramlington.
