I await the council's proposals with trepidation

AS a parent with a child in the Alnwick partnership of schools I read with interest the letter from Ann Winch in the News Post Leader last week.
Alnwick is one of the next areas to be visited by the doubtfully named "Putting the Learner First" project and I await the council's proposals with trepidation.

Parkside Middle School achieved excellent Key stage 2 SATS results this year and will be a hard act for any primary school to follow.

Nevertheless Northumberland Council promised improved results and this is what parents will be expecting from 2009. These results will not only need to be better than this year but also over and above the year on year improvements already being made by middle schools.

I am sure it will prove immensely difficult to improve on 100 per cent but time will tell. After all some positive news from PLF would make a welcome change.
