HAVING visited the exhibition of the proposed Newbiggin Maritime Centre at the Newbiggin Sailing Club, we would like to report how impressed we were with the presentation and what it portends, and we hope that planning permission will be given for the project and that the necessary funding will become available.
We feel that it will be a great asset to the area and an enhancement to Newbiggin and a great extension to the impressive recent improvements to the bay.

Also, we look forward to seeing the Mary Joicey lifeboat placed in an environment that will do justice to her and to all those who have worked so hard on her restoration, which will be an immensely suitable memorial to the courage of those who served in her with such selfless dedication.
