Church will help those looking into genealogy

Ashington Parish Church of the Holy Sepulchre will again be offering people the opportunity to browse through the baptism, confirmation, marriage and burial registers of the church, from 1887 to the present day this weekend.

On Saturday, September, 13, the church will be open from 10am to 4pm for people who are interested in finding out about their genealogy and appreciate the opportunity to access the parish registers.

The church also has framed plans of the graveyard with files to help people locate deceased family members and these are frequently used by visitors.

The craft group who meet in the Parish Hall will be holding a coffee morning in the church from 10am to noon on the same day to raise funds for the NSPCC.
