Libraries to launch websites for readers

A COFFEE morning will be held at Newbiggin Library later this month to promote an online initiative.

Residents are welcome to pop into the Gibson Street library between 10am and noon on Wednesday, May 23, to learn more about mylibrary.co.uk

Each library in the county now has its own mini site, containing information on opening times and events, as well as book recommendations.

Readers using them can reserve or renew books online or even research their family histories.

Neil Bradbury, the Northumberland County Council executive member responsible for libraries, said: “The new website is extremely user-friendly.”
