THE story of Benjamin Button really is a curious one.
And it's one I'm still not entirely sure I like.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button tells the story of Benjamin who is born with a unique condition that makes him age backwards.

The film follows Benjamin (Brad Pitt) as his life progresses, with the world around him growing older as he grows younger.
This is a thought-provoking film, that carries with it a strong message of acceptance and hope, but it is a very strange film.
I don't know what I was expecting from this movie, because the premise is that Button starts out life old, and grows younger - so it's really the journey he goes on in his life that we are watching.
It is an interesting film, that will really get you thinking, as Button falls in love, meets a woman trying to swim the Channel in Russia (the amazing Tilda Swinton), and is involved in a war.
Cate Blanchett stars as Button's love interest throughout his life - really the one thing that keeps him going, and Taraji P. Henson stars as Queenie - Benjamin's mum, who brings him up when she finds him on her doorstep.
This is a long film, based on a short lesser-known story by F Scott Fitzgerald, and very reminiscent in parts of Forest Gump, as Button is a man triumphing over adversity.
The on-screen aging and special effects are really fantastic, and you truly believe the ageing process in the characters as it looks so real.
This won't be a film for everyone, but there will be many who will love to watch Button's journey as he grows younger as those around him age.
I'm still unsure what to make of it, I don't know if I liked it or not, but I would recommend people watch it to make up their own minds on such an unusual and thought-provoking film.
