A CRAMLINGTON father and son will be rocking the 02 Academy in Newcastle later this month.
Paul Allan, a 51-year-old sales manager from Ringwood Drive, Cramlington, will play bass guitar at the O2 Academy with his band Black Rose as part of a special Classic Rock Legends showcase gig featuring the cream of the regions tribute rock bands on Wednesday, December 28.
Black Rose formed more than ten years ago and are the country’s leading Thin Lizzy tribute act.
Prior to that, Paul’s 16-year-old son Joe, will appear at the same venue on Monday, December 19.
Paul said: “Joe is a talented singer songwriter and has previously appeared at the O2, as well as The Sage Gateshead and Newcastle’s Riverside venues.
“It must be fairly rare for a father and son to play a venue as big as the O2 independantly and within just over a week of one another.
“I’m expecting to be asked to roadie for Joe at his gig, but I’m not holding my breath expecting him to return the favour at mine.
“Nevertheless, we’ll be at each other’s gig supporting the other one as we always have done.”
