Getting to art of matter

Have your say

SEATON Sluice Art Club attracted a record 350-plus visitors to its latest annual exhibition.

Exhibition co-ordinator Richard Simpson said: “This was a fantastic response and made our efforts really worthwhile.

“In the past we have usually attracted locals, but this year we had visitors from Ashington, Cramlington, Newbiggin, Newcastle and elsewhere.

“This level of support is very encouraging. I think we surprised people with the variety and quality of work on display.”

Visitors were invited to vote for their favourite painting in the exhibition and chose “Spring Tide , Whitley Bay” a pastel work by Kath Woollen.

The club meets on Wednesday mornings in the village Community Centre.
