A choir is preparing to celebrate its 65th anniversary with a special service this September.
The speaker at Burnopfield Gospel Choir’s anniversary celebration on September 14 and 15, will be Rev Paul Mallard, director of training and development for the Midlands Gospel Partnership, who is also a Keswick Convention speaker.
The singers at the Saturday meetings are soloist Joyce Shaw, from Consett, and WAVES singers from Cullercoats.
The anniversary is in the form of a bible convention, which is supported by many churches from different denominations throughout the region.
Paul Mallard is also speaking at Burnopfield Gospel Fellowship on Sunday, September 15, at 10.30am and 6.30pm.
