PEOPLE are being invited to take part in a special event at Woodhorn this summer.
A collective recitation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) with artist Monica Ross, will take place at the Ashington museum in June, and staff there are inviting people to participate.
Participants will learn a small part of the declaration in a language of their choice, and then recite it in public during the annual Miners’ Picnic on Saturday, June 8.
Anniversary—an act of memory is a performance series in 60 acts focussing on the importance of the declaration.
A workshop will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 11am, when Monica Ross will explain more about the UDHR, the project and how the performance will work.
Anyone wishing to register for the event or find out more can call (01670) 624480.
This event is part of the Anniversary—an act of memory UK tour and Supported by Arts Council England.
