VISITORS to an Ashington museum can find out about their past and meet the authors of a new play at a history session.

Woodhorn Museum is holding Grace Darling family history surgery sessions on September 8 and 9 in conjunction with the play Amazing Grace, written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, which will be touring this autumn.

There will also be an opportunity to meet the playwrights at Woodhorn on Sunday, September 9, as part of the special weekend.

Ed and Trevor will be at the museum from 2pm to 3pm to hear family stories and to chat about the inspiration for Amazing Grace.

Woodhorn exhibition and events officer Liz Ritson said: “It will be interesting for any would-be descendants to visit Woodhorn and begin to discover their family tree.”

The history surgery sessions are free but booking is essential on (01670) 528080.
