Play needs actors to go the full monty

THE search is on for budding actors who are not afraid to strip off in public.

Day8 Productions will be holding auditions for its production of smash hit comedy The Full Monty, which will be at the Playhouse Whitley Bay in May.

The show will be an Americanised musical stage version of the original 1997 British film, and will follow six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers.

Low in both cash and prospects, they decide to present a strip act at their local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales.

Anyone interested in auditioning should attend a meeting at the Whitley Bay High School drama studio on Tuesday, January 15, at 7.30pm.

Auditions will take place on the weekend of January 26, with rehearsals starting in early February.

For further information e-mail mike@day8productions.org

The Full Monty will be on from Tuesday, May 14, to Saturday, May 18, starting at 7.15pm.
