A rock group singer is to fulfil a lifetime ambition when she stars in an American musical on stage at Blyth later this month.
Kath Dryden has one of the lead roles in the Beaconsfield Operatic Society’s production of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes at the Phoenix Theatre.
It will be quite a change from appearing with her guitarist husband Ray, in the rock group “Call off the Search” and travelling the clubs as a solo singer under the name of Kathy French.
Kath, 54, of Blagdon Drive, Blyth, has won the coveted role of Reno Sweeney and gets to sing some of the top numbers including Blow, Gabriel Blow, I Get a Kick out of You and Friendship.
Anything Goes opens at the Phoenix next Tuesday, October 15, for a five night run.
Tickets priced at £11 are available by calling the box office on (01670) 367228.
