Show to celebrate shipyard workers
A HEART-warming show capturing the stories of the men who worked in the Tyne shipyards will be staged at Blyth’s Phoenix Theatre next month.
Men of the Tyne celebrates the north east’s industrial heritage with songs, stories and film footage of the hard-working men who worked on the river from the 1950s to the 1980s.
Written by Tim Kelly and musician Ian Ravenscroft, the songs are performed by Ian, Ron Smith and folk singer Ted Cuskin.
The show will be at the Phoenix Theatre, Blyth, on Saturday, February 2, at 7.30pm.
