Store staff set to take the plunge for charity
STAFF at a Cramlington store are preparing to take the plunge and zip across the Tyne to riase money for charity.
Seven colleagues at Sainsbury’s in Cramlington will take a zip-wire across the Tyne from the roof of the Baltic Centre of Contemporary Arts in Gateshead on March 18 in aid of the National Stroke Society.
The group will travel 918ft diagonally across the river Tyne before landing on the Newcastle Quayside.
Each colleague has pledged to raise at least £95 each.
Store manager Roger Thompson said: “As a supermarket, Cramlington store’s nominated charity of the year is the North East Stroke Society so raising funds for the National Stroke Society is equally important to us.”
