TALENTED young stars from Bedlington are preparing to take to the stage next month in a production of Annie.

Ten-year-old Victoria Monaghan will tread the boards in the lead role when the show comes to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle, from August 28 to September 1.

And her older sister Eleanor, 13, won’t be far away, as she joins her on stage in the role of Duffy.

Mum Michelle said: “They auditioned against over 150 other young girls throughout the north east, I’ve very proud of the girls achievement, and it just shows what talent Bedlington has to offer.”

The youngsters, who both attend Meadowdale Middle School, will also be joined in the show by eight-year-old Lucy Conroy, also from Bedlington, who will be playing the part of Molly in the Newcastle upon Tyne Musical Theatre Company’s production.

Annie will be at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle from August 28 to September 1. For tickets visit www.theatreroyal.co.uk or call 0844 811 2121.
