THE original American Idol is releasing her eagerly awaited fourth album next week which more than lives up to expectations.
Kelly Clarkson stormed to success when she won American Idol in 2002 and has been going strong ever since.

With top tracks like Breakaway, Behind These Hazel Eyes and Since You've Been Gone, the star quickly cemented herself as a musical maestro.

In her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted, Kelly still has that unique sound, in tracks like the debut single My Life Would Suck Without You, and I Do Not Hook Up, but tracks like Whyyawannabringmedown, have a much more rocky edge.

It's nice to see a reality show winner make it this far - unlike so many others who fade into obscurity after the first album.

But Kelly really deserves it.

My Life Would Suck Without You, is very much the rockier sound we have come to know and love from Kelly, and is reminiscent of the smash Since You've Been Gone.

Track three on the album, Cry, is much more of a country sounding song - which is going down so well for Kelly in America that she had contemplating giving up the pop-rock sound for country.

This is a really personal track, but the edgier songs on the album that sound more like the Kelly of years gone by, are far better than the country-style, in my opinion.

Save You sounds very like Pink, and you can easily draw a comparison with this and her new Please Don't Leave Me song off the Funhouse album, and Whyyawannabringmedown, is also a very Pink sounding song.

After a much talked about breakdown with her management last year, Kelly has bounced back, taking it upon herself to co-write six of the album's songs, as well as collaborating with a wide array of all-star producers and songwriters.

To date Kelly has sold over 16 million albums worldwide - 1.8 million in the UK. She has sold 650,000 singles in the UK, five of which made it into the top ten, and has picked up two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two MTV awards and 11 Billboard Awards.

And it doesn't look as if she shows any signs of stopping just yet.
