THE debut album by electric string quartet Escala, who won the nation's hearts in last year's Britain's Got Talent, has gone straight into second place in the charts.
The self-titled album Escala includes songs the quartet played on the show in 2008 including their incredible version of Wing's Live and Let Die.

The abum also includes the women's rendition of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir and Feeling Good.

Since making it to the final of the TV talent show last year, Escala have worked to make classical music 'cool'.

Because of them it is acceptable to listen to it and openly enjoy it, and for that alone they deserve the success they are achieving.

With an army of fans long before the release of this debut, Escala were destined for great things.

Now, an impressive album that boasts a track listing featuring Palladio which was performed on the show, and the amazing Children and Clubbed To Death, this is fast becoming my favourite album of the moment.

Sky Sports News viewers will also recognise Requiem For A Tower.

A very strong first album, that some critics have slammed for being an album of covers - but in my view it's nice to hear songs that you recognise being played in this way.

A musical treat for the ears!
