NEWCASTLE United's out-of-favour striker Shola Ameobi is close to completing a move to Ipswich Town.
The two clubs are said to have agreed an undisclosed fee for the 26-year-old, who has found himself around fifth choice in the United striking options.

The former England Under-21 player had been linked with a move to West Brom and Norwich in the summer, while he also finished last season on loan at Stoke City.

But now it appears the Nigerian-born player is on the brink of a move to Suffolk.

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton told the club website: "We have agreed a fee with Newcastle for Shola and he spent time at the club having a medical.

"Things are moving on. Hopefully we can get it all tied up."
