KEVIN Keegan will make a late decision on Fabricio Coloccini's involvement against Valencia tomorrow after the defender finally arrived on Tyneside.
The 26-year-old – who has agreed personal terms – was understood to be undergoing a medical ahead of his £9.5m move to Newcastle United from Deportivo La Coruna.

Keegan had hoped to blood Coloccini in before Newcastle's season-opener against Manchester United.

But the Argentina international's delayed arrival means it is touch and go whether he plays any part in United's final pre-season friendly.

Meanwhile, striker Alan Smith appears in limbo after it was reported a £3m bid from Everton had been accepted.

Keegan – who left Smith out of the midweek friendly against PSV Eindhoven because of an ankle problem – wants to keep Smith at St James's Park.

But it has been suggested that Ashley – who wore a Smith No. 17 shirt to games last season – wants him off the wage bill.
