A mum and toddler group in the county has been given a cash boost to buy sensory equipment.
Bright Beginnings, which caters for able bodied and special needs children, has received £5,519 from the Community Chest Foundation to purchase the new equipment.
Dawn Hood, manager and chair of Bright Beginnings, said: “As we rely solely on donations and funding, words can not express how overwhelmed I was to recieve the money from the funders.
“I approached the community chest foiundation for funding for sensory equipment and was awarded the full amount in which we asked for which was £5,519.36.”
“The money has enabled Bright Beginnings in Northumberland to buy so much sensory equipment to help stimulate and focus the mind and bodies of not only the special needs and able bodied children, but also the development and stimuation for the babies of the group, and hopefully one day open many more doors in the future.”
