Two crime writers took part in a special literary event in Bedlington at the weekend.

Mari Hannah and David Jackson took part in the event at Bedlington Community Centre’s ‘Duelling Crime Writers’ event on Saturday.

During the event the authors talked about their protagonists and quizzed each other about their writing experiences.

They also answered questions from the audience and signed copies of their books.

Forum Books from Corbridge sold copies of all the authors’ works on the night, including pre-publication copies of Mari’s new book Monument to Murder, due to be released this week.

The authors’ publisher, PanMacmillan, also helped to make the inaugural author event possible.

Last week, in London, Mari was presented with the Polari First Book Prize 2013 for her first novel, The Murder Wall.

The event was such a success the organisers are already planning to hold similar events for the local community.
