I WOULD like to thank the people of Blyth for their turnout for the Olympic torch run on June 15.
I cannot put into words the pride I felt carrying the torch in our town.
Even though the weather was terrible it could not dampen the spirit in Blyth.
I am born and bred from Blyth and to be given the chance to shine in our town will stay with me forever, your smiling faces and your cheering made the day unforgettable.
I feel at times that Blyth gets tagged sometimes with a poor reputation, but anyone watching up and down the country could not have been more impressed with the way Blyth embraced one of its own.
The organisation was second to none and the atmosphere was simply unbelievable.
Thank you for making me and the other carriers feel special.
