A group of fashion students from the county have been selected to design and produce a range of ‘fun fair’ themed accessories for the Miss Newcastle 2013 competition.
The seven students, who study the Level 3 Art and Design Diploma in Fashion and Textiles at Northumberland College’s Ashington campus, have created 20 accessories including headpieces, collars, cuffs and chokers.
Student Amy Niles, from Blyth, said: “We are really enjoying working on a real project and are excited to see our pieces on the catwalk.
“Working on a live brief has really helped us in our course as we have to think about how the accessories will fit the model, how they will look and consider how different fabrics will fall.”
Thefashion students have also volunteered to help out backstage on the night, dressing the models to make sure eveything is as they envisaged.
