Alzheimer’s Society in Blyth launched a free monthly tea dance at the Central Methodist Church for people with dementia and their carers.
The inaugural dance was a huge success with many more people attending than anticipated, largely with thanks to publicity in the News Post Leader.
Some 55 people attended to listen to the upbeat sounds of live musical entertainment and also dance the afternoon away.
The atmosphere was fantastic with many dancing, singing, laughing and most importantly having fun.
We are extremely excited to see how the tea dance will develop and look to continue to provide a social event for people to come along to for social interaction, mental and physical stimulation and overall enjoyment.
