Amazing support for performance

OUR show Amazing Grace came to the wonderful Phoenix Theatre in Blyth last week and everything about the experience was fantastic.

The Phoenix staff were so helpful and enthusiastic and the continued support we have had from the News Post Leader has been brilliant.

However, the 200-plus people of Blyth and the surrounding area who braved the rain on the night and spent their hard-earned money to see Amazing Grace were the real stars.

The response to the show was fantastic and we are grateful.

Theatre should be inclusive. It is a fantastic art form but is generally run by people with a conservative, ‘safe’ mentality, which means they will only put on tried and tested plays by the same old playwrights.

The Amazing Grace tour took in ten north east venues and included places we have never played before, like the Blyth Phoenix.

We promised fresh and new, first-class theatre at accessible prices and the people have responded. We are extremely proud of that.

The Phoenix is a wonderful theatre and we would be proud to play there again.
